Social Turk is a website that features tweets from Amazon’s Mechanical Turk service that have been paid by the advertising revenue from the website itself. The piece creates a feedback loop of an endless stream of newly generated tweets, paid for by the attention they receive. The task the Mechanical Turk’s have been asked to answer is the answer to Twitter’s eternal question “What’s Happening?“
